Reed Cottage

Reed Cottage is a four-star graded, self-catering garden cottage that sleeps four, just a stroll from the Klein River. The river is great for boating, birding and swimming. Meander along the Wandelpad (riverside path) and watch the weavers, herons and red bishops nesting against the majestic background of the surrounding mountains.

The cottage offers a high standard of comfort: full cooking facilities, a sunny and open living area, two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. From the off-street parking a private entrance leads to a pretty indigenous garden. There is a shady veranda with a Weber barbecue.

Stanford is an historic Cape Victorian village midway between the resorts of Hermanus and Gansbaai in the beautiful Cape Overberg, just 90 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. A quaint architectural treasure trove offering a variety of restaurants and pubs that showcase the food, beer and wine of this richly endowed valley.

Set around the heritage-protected village green and along characterful Queen Victoria Street are a number of shops offering art, books, old furniture and collectables.

Only minutes away are the blue waters of Walker Bay offering some of the world’s best whale watching and shark diving opportunities. Nearby are vineyards, a micro-brewery and a cheesemaker.
